For a truck of this price, the single-plate dry friction clutch does its job very well. The transmission system is equipped with a 6-speed manual gear system. The top speed would vary with the load it carries in the tail between 50 and 90 km/h.

The Tata Ace has a wheelbase of 1,650 mm. That’s not very long, but the purpose of Tata Ace is to transport goods between shorter ranges. The payload capacity varies between 600 to 1,030 kilograms.

However, to keep the cost absolutely low on Tata Ace trucks, manufacturer had to omit the power steering feature and opt for a manual steering instead. Although due to its compact nature the movement of Tata Ace will not really be difficult, yet having a power steering could make the experience a lot better.
