The Pulsar set the country’s pulse racing and gave Bajaj a new lease of life more than a decade ago. A departure from the commuter bikes that ruled the streets at that time, the Pulsar was perhaps the bike that introduced the 150 – 200 cc segment bikes in India. Since then the Pulsar has come a long way in terms of appearance as well as the mechanical aspects. While the famous domed cowl is still present, the host of other additions like the 3D lettering is true to this age and far ahead of the sticker works of the past.

The design is a fair blend of energy and solidity and the overall bike has a rich look about it. Some of the irregularities of the past models have been refined and the result is streamlined and well proportioned. The ride quality is till great and handling easy on the congested streets. The Pulsar has always been the one for advanced styling and the new 180 DTS-i is no different. The fuel tank scoops and the clip on handlebar make it a very rider friendly machine.
The 180 DTS-i sports a single cylinder 178.6 cc 4 stroke engine that is air cooled. The engine delivers and impressive 16.8 bhp @ 8,500 rpm and 14.22 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. The acceleration of the bike is noteworthy and reaching the three figure mark on the speedometer is easily done. The bike gives around 58 kmpl which for a 180 cc is remarkable. The design and over setup of the bike facilitates the additional power surge. The 5 speed gearbox is also well matched.
The split seats offer greater comfort for the rider and pillion. The suspension setup at the front and rear do their job efficiently on most roads and conditions. The head lamp provides sufficient illumination and the two pilot lamps also add to the stylish look up front.
